Machine pieced and quilted, tucked pleats, knotted
Two fabric strips were joined and then tucked/pleated into the shiny brocade, and quilted down in alternating directions. The bottom ends of the pleats were left hanging, and knotted. The right and bottom edges of the brocade were sewn on top of the border and left to fray a bit. This piece reminded me of the crazy profusion of springtime.
I am in the process of adding a variety of glass and metal beads to the center of this quilt to represent a profusion of garden plants sprouting. Stay tuned!
