This was made for a self-portrait project for the Q&A Quilt Art group. My birth sign is Sagittarius. The trees have long since lost their leaves by my birthday, but the winter night sky is beautiful. All the stars in this quilt are in their correct positions. I simply redrew the lines, and renamed the constellations, to represent myself and the important things in my life -- both good and annoying! Along the edge of the border I free-motion stitched names of people, events and places in my life; the lettering is all lower case and run together to represent the mystery we are to others.
The constellations have their Latin names along with my new versions.
