One of the more popular email listserves for art quilters is QuiltArt. In 2005 the list celebrated its 10th birthday, and had a special retrospective exhibit of list-sponsored challenges at the Quilt Festival show in Houston (which will travel to Chicago and then Lyons, France in 2006). In August 2005, the list mom asked "where do you live" and received about 500 responses from the 2000 members. The exhibit organizers asked for a volunteer to mark these locations on a map. As a cartographer in my previous life, this was too fun to pass up! Thanks to several list members who collated the list, I placed a star for each of the responses on a large National Geographic map. Special thanks to Cindy Sisler Simms who took these photos at the exhibit in Houston.
