The "Dependency" is one of the buildings on the Oatlands estate, near Leesburg, Virginia. This historic old home has a huge, wonderful garden.
To get the effect of shadows in the arched passage and below the plants, I used thinned fabric paint. The gate was fused as strips, and inked to accent the separate boards. Every brick was fused individually. The plants use extensive thread painting. The border quilting is a free-hand ivy motif.
